1. Reflections From A Brilliant Year

I have a heavily inbuilt level of resistance to change and as the year draws to a close it’s interesting to reflect on where all of this year’s change has brought us.

Property prices have increased beyond where anyone would have believed possible and I believe there will be significant upward pressure on rents in 2018. Locally, Double Bay is experiencing an unprecedented level of change as it embarks on redevelopment of its retail core and a big increase in the number of residences in the main shopping precinct.

I hear a lot of concern that somehow the essence of Double Bay will be lost and its social fabric will be intrinsically altered but as I walk through the buzz that is Kiaora Lane to collect my morning coffee I feel a sense of life and excitement that was missing before. Next year will see much of Cross Street redeveloped. I hope that when these works are completed that they will be a positive addition to this beautiful suburb and will only make our star shine brighter.

This year has seen more growth in our business too but our personal service mantra remains the same as it is the essence of who we are. Like Double Bay, there is a core that defines us and gives us our “feel”, we are trying to sparkle more brightly but not ever lose touch with who we are!

It’s been a good year after all!
